The NYC Children's Chorus is pleased to present Christmas in New York, a collection of our favorite Christmas carols that take the listener on a veritable tour of an NYCCC Christmas in New York, from the excitement of singing Deck the Hall and Jingle Bells in a live television performance at Rockefeller Center, to our favorite performance of Gesu Bambino in Pietro Yon's musical home at St. Patrick's Cathedral, to recordings of Christmas works by Norman Luboff, Peter Wilhousky, Randall Thompson, and Paul Halley, composers who were so strongly influenced by our beloved New York City.

With this first recording, we are pleased to introduce ourselves as the newest children’s choir in town; a community-based children’s chorus founded in 2012, steeped in the bel canto tradition of singing that claims classical music as its heart and soul. And what is for a young singer more at the core of the Western musical tradition than the art song?
